Juhana Marttinen Architects / Projects / Serlachius Museum Gösta / Courtyard
The courtyard of the museum is the center of all activity. The entrance literally opens to welcome the visitors, and also clearly marks the disctinction from the old building to avoid confusion. The entrance is easily distinguished from the distant parking area. The restaurant extends to the garden. Visible at the back is the main exhibition space incorporating the adjustable "shingles" for lighting control, which is essential in a museum. The system is programmed to follow the changes in daylight and season, to always provide optimum lighting. The software can be optimized for different types of exhibitions and even special, individual settings. |
